This paper describes a multiAgent control system for a strip rolling process. In order to realize distributed intelligent control of the system, multiAgent theory was applied after analyzing the characteristics and structure of its cont rol system. Then a control strategy based on multiAgent interaction was design ed. Finally, the partition method, the coordination mechanism, and the model str ucture of the multiAgent control system for the strip rolling process were ana lyzed. The paper concludes with a new control structure and system for strip rol ling processes, which help to build up the generally integrated model, to elimi nate the coupling among control systems, and to realize the more intelligentized control .
