This paper proposes a method of constructing the building design database of an extendable house based on the ArcGIS software, and considers the classification expression method, collation of data information, design of database logical structure, and matching method of image and attribute data as the building design data of an extendable residence. A database was constructed on the basis of a residential area instance. The experimental results revealed that the method could convert the residential architectural design image and attribute information into a quantizable and matchable database with a unified format that facilitates computer recognition and could form an efficient house data storage platform. Thus, a rich data basis for the building design of an extendable house and the subsequent process of data mining were provided.
